How To Make Your Own Video Podcasts

Just to make things clear, Apple Inc, the makers of iPod have nothing to do with podcasting technology. The name bears the similarity because, viewing video podcasts became a rage only after apple introduced video iPods in the market and allowed the users to access online videos. Today anyone who wants to be visible on the net has video podcast technology at his disposal. But how exactly do you get into video podcast production.

One thing that needs to be understood is that all the videos on net are digital in nature, so you cannot use footage directly from analog camera (one with magnetic tapes) to make a video podcast. First you will have to convert the analog video into digital video, before a final video podcast is made.

The most basic necessity of a video podcast is the footage. Just shooting some random things and making a video podcast out of that will qualify as video podcast, but your podcast might not find any takers. So get some great footage and get ready to make your first video podcast. Second thing is to compress the video so when it is transferred from one device to another, it takes very little bandwidth and also occupies very little space on the viewers device.

If you are trying to promote your business, website or blog, make sure that you edit it in such a way that there is some link between these two. The best method would be to shoot the entire video with your business banner in the background or as a watermark on the video. This is very easy to do with some of the freely available video editing software's on the net.

Once you are done creating the video, it is a matter of few clicks and your video is on the net and ready to be podcasted.

Points To Ponder

While creating a video podcast, keep in mind the target audience of your podcast. Also give a due consideration to device type on which your video podcast will be watched. These things are to be kept in mind while the video podcast is being created as little can be done once they are made. Last and the most important aspect is how you promote and publish it. Put in links to your video podcast on video podcast directories, related websites and online communities and social networking sites. It is better to learn how to make video podcasts now instead of getting left behind.
